Identified themselves as “Islamic State Hacking Division” (ISHD), ISIS leaked names, addresses, photos and other personal details of about a hundred military personnel in their “kill list”.
According to published statement, “…We have decided to leak 100 addresses so that our brothers residing in America can deal with you.”, addressing ISIS sympathizers residing in the US to take action.
The ISHD claimed that they hacked U.S. military servers, database, and email account to harvest information of those personnel who participated in the US-led coalition airstrikes against the ISIS.
However a Defense Department spokesperson said, “I can’t confirm the validity of the information, but we are looking into it.”
The U.S. military is now investigating matter to make sure the military personnel included in the “kill list” and their families are notified on the threat, “the safety of our service members is always a concern” they added.
