Philippine hackers getting ready for Indonesian cyberwar

Over the past 24-hours, we have followed the activity of local hackers if there would be a response regarding the recent defacement of Central Luzon State University website by Indonesian hackers. Prior to that, the website of Department of Education – Davao City Division was fully defaced by the same intruders.

Phantom Hackers immediately retaliated by defacing a couple of Indonesian websites in which one of those is state-owned.

How this started?

The first defacements can be traced back to Blood Security hackers attacking Indonesian websites over Mary Jane Veloso’s case. Veloso is currently sentenced to death(reprieve) because of an alleged drug smuggling in Indonesia.

We have mentioned in our previous story that one unnamed Indonesian hacker sent a warning message to “Blood Security hackers” thru a paste. “kindly please stop the attack or we will do the same over and over again until we both can feel each “other power” in this virtual world,” the message reads.

Soon after that both parties decided to calm down and agreed of a cyber cease fire. But few Indo keyboard warriors can’t just hold off their fingers and targeted .ph domain names.

Again, a quick response was fired by Phantom hackers leaving a couple of Indonesian websites get vandalized.

To date, we only see one (1) Indonesian government website affected by a new attack of “Philippine Cyber Army.” bpmpd.riau.go.id with an interesting message left, “War does not determine who is right – only who is left.”

An anonymous hint, disclosed to us suggested that there will be more to come.

As soon as there is development of this story, we will keep you updated.
