Ubisoft hacked, advices users to create new password

The French video game developer, Ubisoft, the one who created the games like Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance and Ghost Recon has notified its users and confirmed that its system was compromised.

Ubisoft began to send out emails urging its users to change password immediately.

Inside the email, the company explains that an unknown attacker has hacked into its website and gained access in a database having user names, email addresses, and “encrypted passwords”.

“Please note that no personal payment information is stored with Ubisoft, meaning your debit/credit card information was safe from this intrusion,” the email message reads as follow.

Regarding the encrypted password, Ubisoft revealed that it stored those password in a way that it can not be reversed but is crackable if the chosen password is weak.

“We instantly took steps to close off this access, to begin a thorough investigation with relevant authorities, internal and external security experts, and to start restoring the integrity of any compromised systems.” the company said in a post.
