Western Mindanao State University website defaced, hacker modified homepage

Just few minutes ago, anonymous source informed me on Facebook that the official website of Western Mindanao State University(wmsu.edu.ph) has been defaced by a hacker calling himself as ‘Sp4nksta.’

The hacker who introduced himself to be a member of ‘Syntax Hackers International’ modified the home page of the University website.

A message posted therewith shows:

“Wondering How i penetrated to your site?”

He added that the website is vulnerable to hackers and the admin needs to patch the security hole. He also mentioned that ‘transferring your website to a paid hosting doesn’t mean that you are secured,’ for now, we can not confirm if the allegations are true.

Remaining message on the defacement suggest that it is a greeting to his fellow hackers.
